100 Days Left
Guest post by Jeff Allen, Campaign Manager
My name is Jeff Allen, and I’m the Campaign Manager here at Roy Cooper for North Carolina.
In April, I updated you on where this race stood, and how our team is approaching the campaign trail. Last month, I explained how the Supreme Court’s monumental campaign finance decision would affect this election.
And with just 100 days remaining before Election Day, here’s exactly where we stand.
We have just 100 to talk to every voter, knock on every door and finish this campaign strong.
As you may have seen, the polls are tightening. A recent Public Policy Poll (PPP) shows us leading Michael Whatley by ONLY 4 points. As is often the case in North Carolina, we know that this will be an extremely close race.
So we’re working hard every day until Election Day to show voters just how important this race is. North Carolina hasn’t elected a Democrat to the U.S. Senate since 2008. History isn’t on our side. But every ounce of support and every dollar we raise right now goes directly to changing that.
We need to send a committed, independent leader to Washington who actually cares about North Carolinians — not a DC insider and big oil lobbyist who cares more about his personal portfolio than the needs of working families.
Roy’s record speaks for itself. Four terms as Attorney General. Two terms as Governor. He’s spent his career fighting for North Carolina and he’s running for Senate to put working families first. Roy has spent his career fighting for the people of North Carolina. Michael Whatley has spent it fighting for the wealthy and well-connected.
The Republican dark money machine is strong, and Whatley already has the full force of the GOP behind him. Make no mistake — the GOP is coming for this seat.
So far, GOP Super PACs have committed nearly $100 MILLION to trying to buy this race. That number will only grow in the next 100 days. The Supreme Court has cleared the way for the GOP to dump millions more into attacking our campaign. That means more seven figure ad buys, more attempts to out-organize us, and probably even visits from Donald Trump to North Carolina.
This race will be decided by a slim margin, and that margin will be decided by what we do over the next 100 days.
Our campaign was built as a grassroots movement, and that is how we intend to win it — through widespread organizing, direct voter contact and a people-powered effort from folks like you.
Whether you can chip in a few dollars, register to vote, volunteer to knock on doors or call voters, every effort counts. Thank you for standing with this campaign, and thank you for reading.
Jeff

HIGH SCHOOLS SHOULD BE TEACHING ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS COURSES INSTEAD OF 19TH CENTURY LIT AND ALGEBRA MOST STUDENTS WILL NEVER USE BUT THE ACADEMICS RUNNING EDUCATION DESPISE CAPITALISM SO WE HAVE AN EPIDEMIC OF FINANCIAL ILLITERACY. KIDS DON'T CHOOSE THEIR PARENTS BUT THE GOP WOULD STARVE THEM ANYWAY. IRRESPONSIBLE PARENTS ARE A GOOD ARGUMENT FOR ABORTION WHICH RIGHT WINGERS OPPOSE. IF THEY ONLY CARED FOR THE BORN AS MUCH THEY CARED FOR THE UNBORN. NEWSFLASH: JESUS AIN'T IMPRESSED WITH FAKE CHRISTIANITY. FACT: THE TRUMP ECONOMY IS SO BAD, MANY AMERICAN FAMILIES ARE MIXING WET DOG FOOD WITH MANWICH SAUCE TO CREATE SLOPPY JOE SANDWICHES. THEY'RE CALLING IT "THE TRUMP DINNER".
